Default Need Help finding an amp or a good amp sub combination

I am looking for advice on an amp that will power 2 12" Kicker L5's. I am buying them online and they come in a box that's pre-wired. I am also wondering as these speakers take 600 watts rms to each sub if a mono block amp would be the best way to go? unsure here as i'm not sure on how to wire them. So in a nut shell what i'm asking is what kind of amp and what power rating should i be checking for the power ratings. I can have the speakers wired in 1 ohm, 2 ohm, or 4 ohm. I'm lost here as i usually just take my car into an audio shop and have them hook it up, but i would really like to know how to have them hook it up so i get the most out of my subs. One last thing, if there's anyone that can explain wiring in parrallel to me i would be greatful as i've heard that's the best way to go. Can you run 2 subs off a single channel mono block amp? Also if anyone has any suggestions other then the L5's that would still keep me at a reasonible price i would love to hear them. Anyways thanks for reading my ramblings and for any advice that can be given.

go to this link http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/le...s_wiring.html? there you can find out how to wire them its pretty easy. and Id get the newer lanzar optidrive amp maybe the 1400d that should be plenty. they can handle low ohmage so you probably wont hurt it if you wire your subs wrong. you might want to run it at a 2 ohm load. unless you have a good high output alternator (above 80 amps usually is sufficient). but I would not go any lower then 2 ohms. if there single voice coils then go for the opti 2000d and run it 4 ohm. these ratings are max at 2 ohm I believe.

I have a pair of phoenix gold xeon 10" subs and I love them they hit lower then some of the 12s ive had and are very clean. and I have, well had a opti 1000d powering three of them but it was too big of a strain on my electrical system. these subs were nearly 300 dollars a piece when they came out and now you can get a pair on ebay for like 160. and the lanzar amps have amazing power for the price. there digital mono block amps. and I just found out there designed by zed audio.
