Stereo vs Mono

just curious to whats the diff, if any, bt 2 channel amp and 1channel?

arent mono amp are internally bridged?

whats the down or upside to havin 2 channel instead of 1 channel to to get the most power out of it, pretend both amp has the same amt of ouput power and using only 1 sub.

No difference, really. Tho in theory a 1 channel might be a bit cheaper to make.

As long as the impedance of the speaker is suitable for the capacity of the amp, then you're all set. It doesn't matter if you use 1 channel or 10 channels to accomplish it. 1 channel amps should be simpler, but stereo amps will give you the possibility of use for something other than a subwoofer later on down the line (assuming the bandwidth is good).

In the car audio world mono amps are generally used for subwoofers beacause they are capable of producing more power at lower loads usually between 2- .5 ohms
