Zapco SX-SL Processor.... ?

I have recently installed Focal Utopia mids, bass and the Focal Audiom TLR tweeters in my car... these are powered by a2 Mcintosh amps (400w and 200w). So evreything sounds pretty good, although i had expected it to aound better.....

Anyways, I decided to buy the Zapco SX-SL for more control. This is where things went pear-shaped. First off, there was a hissing sound that was constant.. even when music was turned off. Furthermore, the sound was distorted. I played with the gains on the amp.. no luck.

Has anyone out theres used this peice and if so, might you know where my problem lies. I suspect I could make some changes to the internal settings of the Zapco... this is what i will try next, but i am extremely frustrated.

On another note, anyone out there using the Audiom TLR's? they sound a bit harsh... this might go back to the adjusting issue.....

James,
Your problem has to go back to your Zapco. I have TLRs and would not trade them for any other tweeter. Mac amps border on flawless.
Just my opinions though.

sounds like a gain issue . The zapco has an input gain switch that has 0 , 6 , 12 db . start there
