I was looking around the shop trying to find a little somthing to do.I ran across 2 mtx 12`s.Digging up the specs on the drivers
and mtx recomends 1.25 ft^3. So after doing the math i came up with a 12x7 tube.if my math is right 3.14 x R x R x D.Never built a tube and looking for something differant to build. What i`m wondering if anyone has ever tried a sealed tube. thanks donnie

1. don't forget displacement of the woofer itself.
Volume is 2. you mistook D for R. R=0.5 This results in needing about 19" of tube length. 3. Since the cone displaces about 1/3 of the volume in it's depth, Add about 2" of tube length to accomodate the volume taken up by the woofer 4. Don't forget the end caps. Assuming you use 3/4" , you'll need extra .75" Total so far is 19+2+.75=21.75" Use 22" total tube length. ----- 7" was too good to be true! |
