Speaker Level Converters

I am using a "Suntech" speaker level converter to gain some low level outputs from my OEM deck.
The converter looks to use some tiny transformers and resistors.

How "bad" are these type of converters? Would they contribute to a "kind of slow" bass with no real slam?

I use a sealed box with a system Q of around .76

I did a little comparison back then using these and without them.

the difference is there is a noticeable loss on high and low frequencies, little but ignorable. if you're just going to use simple coaxials and small subs, you can use them, but if you're going for several 15's and component separates, you're better off with a new headunit.

as for the bass, it does not have much effect except for some low frequency cut off below 30-35Hz.
