DIY car amplifier
Any good sounding schematics out there? mono or 2 channel, class AB, class A or even a hybrid tube project.
Cheers ;) Hesky |
You could use any home audio amp design (almost any). The main challenge is power supply.

Anyone know some place that sells kits to build a power supply for something like this? |
DIY PS schematic: Rod Elliot's Project 89 (contributed by Sergio Sanchez, who's on this board.)
Sergio seems to have in development a kit where you can just buy a working car SMPS for your own amplifier. If so, then that's probably the route that I'll look to. I think the thread is at This Link where Sergio mentions this. |
I have built mine in three weekends. it consists of two P3A's and my modified SMPS.
+/-35V rails. although they run a bit hot due to high bias. P3A's may seem low but they do make great front stage amps. haven't taken any pics or drawn any schematics yet but soon I might. |
