Well, the popping was fairly distinct, and since the grid material it would hit is very flexible I dont think the sound was that of the speaker inner cone hitting it. Still, I could cut out the grid material and cloth and mount speaker grills in their place, but I really dont want to if its not a problem (Not only is it work, but I dont exactly want shiny speaker grills advertising my car to would-be thieves)
The noise itself kind of sounded like the effect you get on a powered-on guitar amp as you plug a guitar in, that kind of crackle, only instead of a series of crackling it was just one of those sounds in a distinct "pop". |
