Any point in putting dummy loads on unused speaker outputs on headunit?

Just throwing this one out here... any point in using say a 8 ohm dummy resister for the headunit to 'drive" with its spekaer outputs instead of it driving a inf. ohm load when nothing is connected? In my setups I always use just the preamp outputs to drive external amps. Thanks.

Just creating extra heat in the head unit and the resistor. I definitely wouldn't do it.

I've used an internal amplifier successfully as a balanced output, so they're not entirely useless.

balanced output? good idea but I think that the high level outputs don't have very good SQ compared to the preamp outputs........
