Operation / Protection light on

I have a Kenwood KAC-X201T Car amplifier. Recently my operation/protection light came on. I was told this means my protection circuit has been activated. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I have already changed fuses and changed the wires to the speakers and the stereo. Oh yeah, the reason for the activated circuit is from someone turning the stereo up too loud too frequently. Any help I could get on this problem would be much appreciated.

Remove the wires to all speakers and try to power the amp. If the lights go off, you probably have a shorted speaker. If not, the amp is toast.

If it's inside, you can check diodes (I doubt it) and voltage regulators. Make sure resistance on regulators is sympatico with any other regulators on board.
