Gidday

I have a car amp that "doesnt work".
Its a Philips 4 channel bridgeable unit.

Pulled it apart and traced, found it works. To cut a long story short, when i earth the gnd of the signal to the amp, it works!

The gnd feed from the signal of course feeds into the crossover/bridge controls, and is not directly connected to the main earth of the unit (by design).

My question is whether ir not its ok to earth this signal gnd. My experience with amps is generally with ones that pull the signal gnd to earth through a small resistor as it enters. Would this be ok?
Im prob not looking to use the bridge mode, so its not a major if it affects this.
Any body have any thoughts on this.

Thanks in advance

Dave
