This amp is weird. Everything is factory no repairs.
Mismatched transistors in the channels and 100 ohm gates with IRF3205 in power supply. One supply was dead with a shorted channel and the other supply was getting hot drawing a lot of current.
Repaired the dead supply and shorted channel. Changed the other supply gate resistors to 47 ohm and now no heating or current draw.
Customer stated the protection was modified. D305, D307, D205, D207 all removed.
I think I will have to reinstall those diodes to ensure the amp produces clean audio and will bias. The customer then wants these diodes removed again before shipping.
What will be gained leaving them out?
