Hi,
I have my own head unit installed in my car with speakers of the previous owner. Now they are just fine but I still have my own speakers dusting away. I want to put those in the trunk with an amp, just for the fun of it.
But I don't want the head unit to stop powering the main 4 speakers installed. I assume the headunit's amp will automatically turn off when I run the RCA's to the external amp.
Is there any way to run an external amp to 4 extra speakers and still have the headunit's amp powering the 4 main speakers?
Thanks!

The use of the RCAs on the head unit won't affect the speaker level output unless it's a very odd head unit.
Thanks for your response, good to know all 8 speakers will probably work
