If you had 540N to match, no do not use those. Order IRF9540.

i think i might have a bad bridge rectifier (U1620R) how would i check this component with my dmm?

i get .430v one way and with leads reversed i read .920v so im pretty sure the rectifier is bad

Is this out of the circuit?

Not a bridge rectifier. It's a dual rectifier with a center tap. A bridge rectifier has 4 diodes.

yes it is still in circuit. after closer reading on your site perry i belive it to in fact be ok. another question, i have two output fets that test defective in circuit but test ok out of circuit?

Testing in the board isn't definitive. Other components can make readings unusable.
