Default starsound ssas-1d 6800.1 help identify IC

Hi,

I need help to identify the following IC on the this board.
Driver board for this class d Mono amp
IC's is marked as U2 and U4. suspect some sort of op amp but the manufacturer in its infinite wisdom decided to remove the marks by scratching it off. I have a dead across pins 1 and 4.

thanks

Possibly an IRS2184S. Check the pin configuration or wait for someone else to confirm.

Hi Pery any thoughts on a Texas instruments device as replacement. I can make out a ti on the IC but cannot figure out if the pin out is the same as the IR2184s?

regards

I'm sorry. I misread the request. The 2184 is for the outer driver ICs.

The two ICs in the center are likely a TL072 and an LM211. The LM211 will have pins 1 and 4 shorted together.

One more note...

On rare occasions, the TL072 is a TL071. You can tell the difference because the power supply pin for the TL071 is pin 7 instead of pin 8 (as it is on the TL072).

Thank you. Any idea why this amp will switch on the one bank of 4, irf640 output fets fully. They seem to be hooked onto the negative rail and gets hotter than the rest of the fets? I am now starting to think that I am looking at the wrong place for this problem. I removed the irf 640's from the board and tested them out of circuit no shorts or any weird reading on them.

Do you have a spare resistor between 1k and 10k (preferred)?

Are all of the output transistors still out of the circuit?

Hi

Yes I have spare 1k 1/4 watt resistors. The outputs are back in the circuit.

Do you have a scope?

Do the outer driver ICs match the IRS2184 pin configuration?

There are two groups of outputs (high-side and low-side), one for each driver IC. Do you get the same voltages for the corresponding outputs for each driver IC group?
