converting audio mixer to 12 v dc

I was wondering if any one could help? I am wanting to bypass the mains to dc transformer in a small mixer ( eg: mackie ms 1402) so I can run it off a 12 v battery. This will enable me to record on location, and have a neat 4 pin power XLR on the chassis, instead of lugging an inverter about! Is it possible???! ( I think phantom powering might not work, but I guess i could get a little black box to solve that one)
