The drivers are the transistors that generally fail. IF the pre-drivers are the same as the driver transistors, move the pre-drivers to the driver location and use Something like the MPSA06/56 or MPSW06/56 for the predrivers.
You can also use TO-220 transistors in the driver locations. You'll have to shift the legs over and hard wire the emitter.
