If it's a VLX-400, expect lots of pain. They have individual insulators. You have to either clean each one or replace them. The individual screws and nuts are another pain. If you make one mistake that leads to the amp failing, you'll have to do it all over again, free of charge.

You may want to ask if others here can help you with repairing it if you need help. I won't be able to help because I don't work on them.

If this is a collector and the amp is in good condition, the owner may know every tiny mark, scratch, chip of paint and will complain VERY loudly (ruin your reputation with everyone they talk to) if you add another single mark.

I'd suggest giving the amp back to the owner.
