Question Minidsp RCA shield Ground?

I have a minidsp 2x4 and noticed the RCA's shield is linked back to a piece of metal. It is solder into the circuit board like the image below as an example.

Would it be safe to ground this with a 1/2 amp slow blow fuse to the head unit's chassis?

Thanks!
