Where to find 3/8" trimpots with hexagonal adj. tab as found in Amp X-overs ?
 

Hi All,

I have looked around and while I can find these trimmers in the manufacturers catalogues, I am struggeling to find them at any major distributor.

Any hints ?

This type of pot is generally a 6mm or a 10mm. 3/8 falls between those.

Piher makes pots like these but they're rounded. The ones that you have may be produced or marketed by Vimex. Piher and Vimex are both based in Spain, if I'm not mistaken.

thanks a lot for chiming in!

I actually found a german company (I am on the old continent) stocking these, they are ACP (=Brand, spanish again...) CN9 types, they measure something like 9,5 mm so my first thought was to search through the US manufacturers catalogues looking for 3/8".

The 6mm type you mention would be CN6 type, this for information only.

From the information I could gather in the meantime I understand these were made with square housings to faciitate automatic insertion.

I bought a bunch in different values, several audison amps from the early 90's have them in the X-over/gain board.

I should receive them late this week I think.

Not an an easy find though...
