Left rear channel is very distorted..

If i unplug the rca input and only let the signal pin make contact the channel will play fine as soon as i try to plug the rca in fully so the shields make contact the channel will distort..

Any Ideas?

These RCA jacks have switches in them. Is the problem the contact of the shield or is the problem simply the position of the center conductor as you push it further inside the jack?

looks like the problem is the posistion of the center conductor as i push it in further

Look at the attached diagram and confirm that all of the contacts and internal switches are working properly. Also confirm that all of the pads are intact. Many of these have broken connections where the trace meets the pad. Check those points with a lighted magnifying glass.

I set this amp aside and worked on other amps..

I came back to it and tryed to power it up and the Offset light comes on..

Any ideas what would cause that?

Do you have DC offset on one of the channels?

If so, you'll have to see where the DC comes into the channel.
