Question [Solved] Sinus Live SLA-1500

Hello

For start i have read the similar threads like Sinuslive SLA-1500 repair
But i think it's not the same problem.

I have reconnect the amp after 1/2months without utilization.

After powerup a blop sound appear on output and smoke come from amp.

When I open it , on of capacitor have exploded (I haven't capacitor for try to replace it at this time) (The 2nd capacitor side of the red cable)

The U5 and U4 is suspect but I don't know how to test it.

I have attached some photo of the amps. (On extern host because the file is to big)

Have you checked the output transistors to see if any have failed?

The rail caps fail regularly on these amps. If there are no shorted outputs...

Remove the blown cap. It will work with that cap missing
Make sure that you don't have any solder bridges between the pads
Clamp all transistors down tightly to the heatsink
Insert a 15 amp fuse in the B+ line and power the amp up.

Does the amp power up without blowing the fuse?

If so, does it produce clean audio?

That's something that you're going to have to buy from a local distributor (Farnell?). The ELH478M080AS3AA capacitor seems to be a sub but I don't know if anyone in France would have it. Farnell has the SLPX472M080H3P3. It's a bit shorter and relatively expensive.

Hello,

I have found at a french store the ECS2ABW222MT6P23040.

It's a 2200uf / 100V,

I hope it will work fine.

It's about 1/2 the value of the original. It may work reliably but the two capacitors on that rail won't share the load equally which could cause one to fail.

Original value is 2200uF 80V @ 105C not 4700 on this amp

But capacitor is in parralel mode like :

CAP1 // CAP2 --- CAP3 //CAP4

If I have right the total capacitor is egal to : 2200+2200/2 = 2200uF 160V

Two 2200uF caps in parallel is 4400uF. The voltage rating doesn't change for the parallel pair.
