im working on one of these amps and the issue is in the output section. ive traced it back to the ir2184s which looks to drive the output section. the amp is in protect when the output fets are in but they check ok.

Do you read anything near 0 ohms between pins 6, 7, 8 or pins 3,4, 5 of the 2184?

i read nothing near 0 ohms. but its putting out a very bad signal

Most amps that use this IC are self oscillating and won't have a drive signal with no output transistors in the circuit. If it's producing a drive signal, post photos of the waveforms on the gate pads for the output transistors.

ok used the secondary tap for grounding point. i get a nice square wave. now i have an issue with the neg side of the outputs the amp power up fine without them and has a clean wave on the gate resistor but goes strait into protect when i put them in.

the two output fets are connected to pin 4 of the ir2184.

The don't need the get to osc.

the ir2184s is to hot to touch. i read 51v at pin 5.

this is from pin 1 of the tl072c in the output circuit. volts/div5 time/div 5us
