Rockford Fosgate Punch 30HD Transistors

Can anyone give me the datasheets or replacements for the SS256S and SS257S. Also the SS112S and the SS114S. I have not been able to find any info on these transistors since they are over twenty two years old.
any info would be informative.

I have not worked on one in quite awhile, but if memory serves I replaced them with IRF540 and IRF9540.

I don't know how many versions of this amp there are but in the 30HDs that I've seen the power supply transistors were NPN bipolar transistors. I think I used 2N6488s in them.

540s and 9540s are OK for audio. The 540s will be the ones nearest the RCA end of the board.

Just looked up complment to the 2N6488, a 2N6491 PNP should work.

The 112s are the 6488s. The 114 is an MJE3055. Those are the power supply components. There are no PNP bipolar transistors clamped to the sink in this amp.

If you check the originals, they should check like a bipolar transistor.

Does anyone have a schematic for this unit? The one I got from Rockford is unreadable, tried to clean it up with no sucess.

sorry for bringing up an old subject, but i have a coulpe of these on my bench... I was wondering what did you have to change the gate resistor value to.

These components are not FETs so there are no 'gate' resistors.
