this amp is pulling current. the power supply was cooked. i used 47ohm resistors and irfz44. in the power supply. i removed the driver card and all output transistors. and still no luck.

Do you have a clean drive signal on the gates of the power supply FETs?

timwebb 4th June 2012 04:34 AM

yes i have a clean square wave and 4 volts at the gate.

Did you remove the rectifiers to see if that eliminated the excessive current draw?

timwebb 4th June 2012 08:34 AM

it powers up fine with them removed. it has to be in the output section..

Perry Babin 4th June 2012 08:50 AM

Are the rectifiers shorted?

Are they in the correct locations?
