Whats the likely hood of this output filter inductor still being good ?
The inductor as a whole has definitely failed. The cores have likely overheated and become unusable. I've repaired a couple of these and the inductors are a definite weak point. A contributing factor in their failure may be a shift downward in the carrier frequency. It should be (from what I've seen in working amps of this type) approximately 80-90kHz. If it's significantly lower, there is likely a fault in the drive module. When this happens, the filter capacitors often fail.
