when amp becomes faulty does the turn on circuitry get affected as well? refering to soundstream reference amps and orion xtr500.4 amp? i hear popping noise when powered on and powered off.

It's possible that the muting circuit has a fault but the muting circuit isn't generally affected by other failures.
Does the amp pop with no RCAs plugged in? How loud is the noise?

it doesn't happen all the time just sometimes most of the times. loud enough for me to think my speakers blew up, but they don't.
