AMP WILL POWER UP AND PLAY BUT IT PLAYS DISTORTED AUDIO THRU ALL 4 CHANNELS..

IT ALMOST SOUNDS LIKE STATIC KINDA LIKE AN AM RADIO..

ALL OUTPUUTS TEST FINE ALL EMITTER RESISTORS ALL CHECK FINE ALSO..

ANY IDEAS ??

Does it use panel mounted or circuit board mounted RCAs? Sometimes the circuit board mounted RCAs tend to break the solder joints.

I dont know why i didnt catch it earlier since ive fixed alot of fosgates But you guys were correct it was the rca shield ground

I notice that happens a lot on circuitboard mounted RCA's. Had to do the same thing to my head unit.

The old rockford punch amps have some pretty thin RCA shield connections. Combined that with solder joints not allowing flexibility right at the RCA shield's weakest point, plus often the screw missing which holds the RCA in place, and youve got an eventual fault.
