Unit powers up and all buttons light up and fuctions work but the screen doesnt work any ideas??

There should be a display for the CD player that's not controlled by the safety feature. The safety feature that prevents the display from showing video should not effect the regular display.

My suggestion would be to start looking for all of the screws to put it back together to give back to the owner. There isn't likely to be any tech support or any replacement parts available unless you get lucky and a generic part is all that's failed.

Thanks Perry for the info i havent taken it apart yet and i will just give it back to him i really dont like messing with headunits at all anyway thought it might be a simple fix

Boss Audio provide both warranty support and parts (to dealers / distributors). Its only about $30 (for P&P) to send the unit back for repair.
Check the ribbon cable to the unit front. Also is it a clip front screen? Maybe it is faulty and you can order another. Substition would be the best test if he can find another at a dealer, etc. |
