Sub Box Design Idea

I attached a picture that is an idea I had for adding airspace to a down-firing sub box under a rear seat using pvc pipe so that I could port the box and get the most from my sub. The box is for a 10" RE SXX10D2 powered by a Brutus Bxi 12100 at 1ohm. I also thought about polyfill but i'm figuring it would be better free air for the added pvc pipe to really work. Give me your opinions on this set up guys what do you think?

Nobody thinks this will or wont work? I also thought it might help to dampen if i covered the pvc in carpet

Probably not worth the effort. You might pick up just as much volume by recessing the woofer so the box floor can be lower. Or by more carefully fitting the box to the dimensions available, using templates or a prototype made from foam blocks or cardboard.

Or you could just use the smaller box volume and have the port external to the box-meaning you haven't got the port volume to knock off total volume.
