Default MA AUDIO HC2502

Got this amp in and the guy told me when he hooked it up to his head unit it fried it..

I placed the black meter probe on amps ground terminal and red probe on the RCA shield and i have 45 volts on the RCA shields..

Any ideas where to look ?

I can't think of any single common fault that would cause that. Look the amp over carefully to see if there are any strands of wire or anything else that's not right.
