soundstream sa244 compared to original reference line in terms of sound quality. are there noticable differences between the 2.

The SA line was their entry level stuff, but its hard to say in terms of quality. I'd repaired an SA line 5 channel earlier this year and thought it was a reference amp when I had it apart. The SA line might be the newer line of stuff, and they might be built with cheaper parts. Someone else would be able to tell you for sure.
I'm currently fixing a Reference 405, which is 25x4 and a 5th channel for subs. It is probably similar to your SA244. The Rubicons are also similar. |
