D307 and 308 are likely the RP diodes. They should read the same as when you measure the resistance across the B+ and ground terminals.
There's no easy way to test the 4080.

they made very unstable readings with both polarities (swapping probes around on each)

the RP diodes out of circuit read .359v on diode check 18.29k ohms and OL reversed they good???
they are FR605's |

according to your diode testing procedure if it measures less than .5v and more than .9 its considered defective?

Isn't that value given for P-channel FETs, and not diodes?

I work on Boss Audio all the time. If it blows fuses as soon as you apply power, without the remote connection powered then most likely you have a short circuit transistor in the PSU stage.
With these amplifiers, failure is almost always due to excessive heat caused by powering the amplifier inadequately. Too low a supply voltage will cause the amplifier to draw too much current and fry itself. Therefore in the case of blown transistors, you should always replace the complete bank, not just the failed one as likely all transistors near by are also damaged. It is unusual to have to replace driver stage transistors, etc. almost always it it the PSU or amplifier output stages that fail to short circuit. |
