Diamond Audio D3 600.1

This amp is my friends. I hooked it up. It powers on like normal but you can only hear bass coming out of the sub with the volume at 40 or higher. It is distorted at that volume too. I know this isn't a good thing but I need a second opinion. I was thinking maybe the sound might of blew out part of the way but wasn't sure. If anybody has a explanation please tell me. Thanks

Are you sure that the signal source is in good working order and that the speaker is not blown?

Yeah everything has a good connection. The sub isn't blown. Both coils still read the right impedance and it doesn't have any coil rub or anything.

If you're absolutely sure it's the amp, the fuses in the amp are OK and you want to try to repair it, the next step would be to check voltage at various points.

I just checked the fuses and they are good

I was waiting for you to ask what you needed to measure.

You'll have to have the amp powered up, all transistors clamped down and a 10 amp fuse in the B+ line.

Not to be a noob but may I ask what the B+ Line is?

The wire from the battery that feeds the B+ terminal of the amplifier.

I think you may need to have the amp repaired by someone else. Call all of the local car audio shops to see who they recommend for amp repairs. If multiple shops suggest the same repair shop, it's likely a reputable, reliable shop.

I probably will end up selling the amp for parts or just tell my friend to. I doubt a D3 600.1 would even be worth fixing
