so I'm going over some old amps i have here .this is kicker kx800.4 that originally had bad power supply fets -1 on each side so i removed them all and installed irfz44n instead of the irfz46n to do further testing . Amp stays in protect -there is no gate voltage on the the power supply ,the rail voltage is 5 volts . I have not tested for audio out due to low rail voltage
i think the op amp is getting the unit in protection. I have tested all outputs and they are good. The unit dosent draw extensive current here is the test of both ic TL494CN Pin 1: 1.1 Pin 2: 3.1 Pin 3: 4.4 Pin 4: 0.02 Pin 5: 1.4 Pin 6: 3.1 Pin 7: 0 Pin 8: 10.4 Pin 9: 0 Pin 10: 0 Pin 11: 11 Pin 12: 12 Pin 13: 4.7 Pin 14: 4.7 Pin 15: 4.7 Pin 16: 11.5 i think its the voltage on pin 16 getting the unit in protect the op amp lm324n Pin 1: 0 Pin 2: 3 Pin 3: 2.2 Pin 4: 12 Pin 5: 1.8 Pin 6: 3.1 Pin 7: 0 Pin 8: 11 Pin 9: 3.1 Pin 10: 0.3 Pin 11: 0 Pin 12: 0.35 Pin 13: 0.35 Pin 14: 0 I think its the op amp sending my amp in protect .any ideas |

Remove the rectifiers. Does the amp still go into protect mode?
