I know I'm dating myself here but oh well. Back in the day when I built my first "real" system I used all Soundstream amps (MC500 subs,MC140 mids,A50 tweets) and they were sweet. This was back when they were making high end home stereos 20+yrs ago. But within a few years Soundstream really fell off in quality in my opinion. They started marketing there gear with big numbers that only were obtainable in lab conditions for a few seconds and just all around sucked. Now I'm getting back into car audio after 15yrs and I'm seeing some very nice systems running Soundstream tweeters, others were using amps and subs.
Has soundstreams quality improved or do they just make certain pieces better than others? |

Soundstream are no longer what they used to be, like most of the other old school names they have sold out to China and everything is built to budget with no heart..
look out for the old Soundstream stuff, it's turns up for sale pretty regular. |
