I have a problem with my sound system I just finished installing last weekend in my car and I got the amp to turn on but nothing was coming from the subwoofer... So i tested all the lines and made sure it was grounded well and even brought the amp to get tested to make sure it was sending a signal out to the sub at best buy and the amp works... The guy there said make sure your subwoofer setting is turned on (on the Headunit) which I made sure and still nothing... My last idea is that maybe the RCA Subwoofer outputs on the back of my Pioneer DEH-6000UB that lead to the amplifer are bad... whats the easiest way to test this out using a Multimeter? or any other suggestions that I may have to try?
Thanks for any help you may be able to provide! |

Have you tried using the signal from one of the other RCA outputs on the head unit to confirm that everything other than the head unit is working properly?

I'll try that now, so I guess try both the front and back speaker RCA outputs and try that, is there anything else I can try while I have the head unit out to confirm that this might be the problem? I mean I don't want to have to buy a new head unit cause I'm prolly buying a new car in less then a year but its that's the problem then I'll see what I can find on Ebay for cheap.

No go... I tried all 3 sets of RCA outputs and messed around with every setting I could think of and even busted out the online owners manual to see if it could be something else... Is there any way to test the RCA cables plugged into the headunit with a multimeter and see if I get any signal out of them?

There's no point in trying anything else until you try what was suggested.

Do the other outputs work when driving your other amps?

Have the 4 car speakers running off the head unit (no amp attached, which is how it is stock well except with an aftermarket headunit) and the external amp is running my subwoofer and the RCA cables are suppose to send the signal out from the head unit to the amp to drive the sub, but nothing is coming out...

Check the shield ground on the head unit.
