Default 6x9 install, not sure if unusual concept

im in the middle of purchasing a jeep cherokee, and will want to upgrade the sound system in it im sure. i have a pair of alpine typeR 6x9 speakers and would lke to know if a tapped horn would work well inside a vehicle???

i built an SS15 and sat it in the other wagon i have and was utterly disappointed in the lack of sound compared to outside in the open.... so just in saying that iv probably already answered my own question, but.

basically what im thinking, is a couple of long narrow horns with the driver facing up and the horn mouth at the other end (towards the rear) to attempt an increase in bass (40-80hz) using the length of the cabin to utilise the long waves of bass.

am i on the right track?? or am i on track to a mega fail and should just deal with no sub (as i would like to use it to pack my PA gear into it occasionally)

something like this???

I would not build this with out computer design software for this box , it would be a waste of your time and wood. In suv's its ez to make them sound good , even a bazooka 6" sub would sound good. For max out put a 10" or a 12" sub would be nice with a sub box sized 1.cu. ft to 1.5 cu. ft and it would not take up to much space. Check out my video 2 8" subs in a seal box in a Ford F-150 ext. cab. it bumps . starts at 4:48 Car Audio Powered 1 (2 of 2) 05' Ford Focus Custom 6X9s in rear deck & 10' Ford F-150 Sub Amp setup - YouTube
