Hello everyone.
I have a punch 200ix that had a fried power supply and a channel with 2 shorted outputs. I repaired the power supply and the channel. The amp plays great and sounds great for hours on the bench with no issues.............but When you power up the amp with no RCA signal it draws current and the repaired channels starts to get warm, especially R157. Why would the amp be fine with a signal hooked up and not fine without a signal hooked up?

Do you see any oscillation on the speaker output terminal for the channel heating up?
What's the board number? I think there are at least 3 different versions.

Do you mean view the channel through the scope? I dont think I have viewed oscillation before and not sure what I am looking for. What settings do you reccomend on the scope?

2ms and 10v/div. Look at the drain of the power supply FETs at that setting. It will be nothing more than a rectangular haze. If the amp begins to oscillate, it should look similar.
I have photos of a 766 but not the schematic diagram.

Assuming you want me to do this with no signal or load present?
If so then there is no ocsillation.

Do it whenever it draws current and the repaired channels starts to get warm.
