Audio Control Model 3050A RTA

Hopefully this is not an inappropriate thread for this forum. Just not sure where else to ask this. I know someone that is selling an RTA and was hoping one of you could tell me whether or not the price was right. It is a Audio Control Third Octave Real-Time Spectrum Analyzer Model 3050A and he wants $450 for it. This seems like a lot to me but I am also under the impression that this is a very good RTA.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't know how it compares but a 3055 recently sold on ebay for ~$400.

If it has the original mic and has been recently calibrated, it's probably worth it (or at least what you can expect to pay).

The other thing you want to ask about is the internal battery condition, in order to replace the battery in some of the older RTAs you had to upgrade the internal charger circuitry and it wasn't cheap.

If the battery needs to be replaced call AudioControl and find out what the cost will be. I sold a MINT SA-3050A that needed a battery and charger upgrade for $225.00 a couple of years ago. (It would have cost me over $100.00 to get the battery and charger upgrade)
