Can i used a 1n4001 in place of 1n5818?It is for the power supply of an ESP-2

Probably not. The 5818 is a high speed diode with low forward drop. The 1N400x diodes are likely to run MUCH hotter and are likely to fail.

so what do u think? should i take the chance.The 1n400* and FR51 is all i have for now.I will be getting some others soon .i will list them later
