directed D2400

I replaced 2 of the rail caps in this amp since they were vented..

I checked all power supply fets and outputs all test fine..


When i power it up it goes in and out of proteection over and over...


Any ideas?

i just fixed one.i think u might have to check the rectifiers.

If you connect the current limiter inline, does it still go in and out of protect?

Is this the amp?

Its the same board as Tim posted..

If i hook a current limiter in-line it will go in and out of protection also..


If i remove the rectifiers it will power up and idle perfectly for hours

Ok somethings not right here..

I get + 80.4 volts of rail

And only -24 volts of rail

Do you get the same voltage if you use the negative speaker terminal as the reference?

Assuming that the rectifiers are center tapped, do you see the same voltage swing on the outer legs of both the positive and negative rectifiers?

Do you read 0 ohms between the negative speaker terminal and the secondary center tap of the transformer?

ok i replaced 1 of the rectifiers and now i get both + - 71 volts of rail..


Amp still goes in and ot of protection though

Yes...


I think i might have found the problem..


There was a hair-line crack in the solder connection to the output filter inductior..


I reflowed the solder and the amp powers up and plays audio right now...


I also noticed 1 of the transformmers has loose windings since it crackels
