Check the resistor and zener diode connected to the base (leg 3).

The Diode is defective..

Do you know what diode it is or what one i can use to replace it?

It's a 16v Zener.

So a 1N4745 or 1N5264B should work ?

the 4745 and the 5246 (not 5264) would work but you need to use the one that's as large as or larger than the original.

would the IN4744 work right now for testing Its a 15 volt zener or not ?

Ok I found a 1N4745A i will solder it in and see what happens
