Founds these amps at a trade it store. I'm not to knowledgeable about the older classics, but I know that the old sound stream amps are desirable. The audio art amp looks pretty sweet as well. I was just wondering if any of these models would be worth buying and at what price. |

honestly, they have some good prices. i wouldn't have walked out of there without the soundstream and audio art. lil wonder 5 (22.5 x 4 + 65 x 1 rms@4)... it is hard to place the amp, because the lil' wonder series were built in the shadows of the class a cheater monsters which were said to be .25wrmsx2@4, and 500x2@2, but clamped @ 700x2@2. also story goes that they could have been contracted to overseas build, and not real soundstreams. the real and rated power was not published, to the best of my knowledge, and i do not know if the 30a fuse was realistic, or just there fro 4ohm. i really want to pop it open and see/test the guts to get the real story behind the first lil'wonders. worst case scenario, it's really 250-300rms total, but still worth the 50. next the audio art. i'm not hugely familir with them, but i'm sure that someone more familiar with it would recognize the hca amp. (2x100@4, 2x200@2, 2x400@1, bridgeable) the other 2 aren't real special, but still decent amps. the mtx should be ppi built, and may see 75-100rmsx4. i cannot tell you much about the little eclipse without the model number, but i do remember the case. probably a clean 50x2, or 75x2, but about the turn of the century. the other 3 are all mid 90's. of course, i would not act gitty in the store, haggle them, but whatever you can get them to drop to will be a good buy.... on the first 2, not sure on the 2nd two, probably 40-50 on the mtx, unless someone else has some input on making it special...

Cool , thanks for the input. I would definitely like to know more about the audio art amp as well. It looks like a well built amp.

the Audio Art amps are well built amps. The ones that have the model number at end in "HC" are the high current amps. They had 2 models I am aware of the 50HC and the 100HC. The HC amps will run up to 1200 watts at 1 ohm load mono. The one in your picture I believe is a regular one with a crossover built in. It should be rated at 100x2 at 4 ohm, and 200x2 at 2 ohm or 400 mono. It is still a very good amp, even if it is not a HC amp.

My bad, was thinking how Hifonics and Orion doubled the power when dropping ohm loads. That being said, that is a pretty good deal for the Audio Art amp!!!

yah, that rating confused me a little when i saw it.... it does double the power dropping loads, but then the power drops from 2x400@1ohm, to bridged at 1x600@2ohms, when it should be close enough to the same total power either way...
