I got another one of theese amps in for repair..
The proble im have with this one is if the Rca jacks are plugged in the amp draws 25 amps of current... If i leave them unplugged the amp powers up and idle's about 2 amps of current... Any ideas? |

What's the DC voltage on the RCA shields (black probe on amp ground)?
What is the resistance from the RCA shield to the non-bridging speaker terminals?

I'm not familiar with this amp but I'd expect to see 0 ohms between the RCA shield and the non-bridging terminals. Look for a broken connection on the RCA jacks or an open trace.

Hey. I've got two working Hifonics Gen X Thor amps sitting under my desk if you have any questions. I believe these amps are very similar. Also, if you get this amp fixed and are in a position to sell it please let me know. Thanks!
