kinda noob question, but i'm working on a 2010? soundstream rubicon RUB1.1600D with one blown output fet, so i'm going to order 10 and replace all 8 and gate resistors, but i went to order it off digikey and entered in the ir p# b31n20d, and it came up with this
Digi-Key - IRFB31N20DPBF-ND (Manufacturer - IRFB31N20DPBF) so... i wouldn't ask, but it's described as a 3.1watt mosfet n-channel, lol....... of course i looked up the datasheet from the site and that is on a 1"x1" pcb, and it also lists 200watt. so, i'm just not 100% sure. just looking for little re-assurance i'm not getting the wrong one for some reason. also, the guy said you have to tap it when you first start it up to get it out of protect, lol, so i may need help later when i tear into it. thanx in advance |

I would say that is the part. IRF = International Rectifer and PBF = lead free designation. B31N20D is the part#

The 3.1w is for the D2 package, not the TO-220 package.

AKHeather,
Arrow finaly has B31N20D in stock if you use them on occasion. I see a lot of amps needing these parts btw. SPL, PowerBass, Soundstream and a bunch of others. |

it's heathen, not heather, lol.
hmm, never heard of arrow. how are they for price and service? i've been using tayda and digikey, and always get a decent price compared to mouser, ebay, etc. just ordered the 10 for $2.77ea, but always down for new sources. also, does anyone know if these outputs are a good substitute for other common outputs? i'm a fan of any stability upgrades i can get. |

I'm sorry about the name. Arrownac.com and if you create an account the prices get even better for some parts. They want $1.70 right now for those but prices change with market. If you do a lot of repair work they are a good parts distributor. Shipping/handling I find is $15 per order so I uually order up when ordering from them.
