Default Gradient Nova MDS range(black kevlar)

IT Speaker Shop - MDS05 | Loudspeakers > Nova by Intertechnik > MDS Series

Black Kevlar units, cast frames, very sexy looking, very reasonable price and good power handling and ok sensitivity too. Whats not to like.
Whats the catch, anyone used these? I'm interested in the 5/6/8"
Not much info on the site ie graphs, frequency response stuff

Kind of interested in the smaller sizes for a home system too.

Would like your opinions on these if you know more about them

Cheers

Over here in Germany the MDS08 is one of the most recomended 8'' woofer for small enclosures.
Look at some german forums and you will find a lots of posts about them.
If somebody is asking for 8'' nearly everytime the MDS pops up.

I put one of the older, yellow, MDS08 into my girlfriends car.
About 15l closed box and about 120W from an AMA S640's wooferchannel.
Just great!
Performs down to very low frequencies, even in CB.
At some point it gets to its mechanical limits, sure, but for normal volumes it's okay!

I'm not sure, but I believe I have a test of the black one in it's factory enclosure somewhere.
It's in german, but if you want it I will have a look for that magazine!

Cheers!

Thanks for your reply gisewhcs,
Its good to know the 8" is popular in germany;its a good price and it can get below 30 hz f5 in a BR. I am also very interested in seeing a frequency graph of the smallest, the MDS05 so I can match it to a tweeter. I don't speak german unfortunately and I can't find a graph on the web..

A question; do you think they would also work ok in a 3-way home system with the vifa XT-19 tweet?

I would send a mail directly to Intertechnik, asking for the graphs.
I'm very sure, that they had them in their older printed cataloges, so they are available somewhere!

But because of the Vifas, I have no idea...

yes, thanks, I sent a message, so hopefully they will reply!
the Vifa needs to be crossed above 2.5 khz but its an excellent tweeter, better than the XT-25 and virtually the same as the alpine xt-19. The MDS05 is small enough but I am wondering how it sounds in the HF's due to the rough kevlar surface.
But the total price for everything..£160, thats the same price as 1 seas 10" sub.
