Default Noise on remote connection Punch 75

I fixed an Original Punch 75 today which had severe PS problems. Everything was great until I decided to replace one of the 1000uf caps. Seems there is a diode (1n4003) that runs from ground on that cap to an ~150 ohm resistor.

Long story short, I lost the diode, wasn't sure it was a 4003, so used a 4007, and some magic smoke came out, from exactly where I don't know. Found another 4003 and put it in.

Problem is, the amp now makes a noise for about 3 seconds before clearing up when the remote wire is attached. Since the schematic for punch 45 Rev C doesn't match exactly, what exactly am I looking for?

Aren't you missing a driver transistor?

I put the drivers (A06) under the board as you suggested in your tutorial.

This was an inherited repair that I fixed. But like I said it was working perfect until I decided to swap that capacitor out.

Spent quite a bit of time on this one as it was an early Punch 75. Finally, after removing a few extra parts (previous repair,) finding a new capacitor that was leaking, changing repaired resistors with the right value, I STILL HAD THE PROBLEM!

But I measured to forward voltage on the bad side, and figured out it was a leaky 6417 driver that tested good, but did leak. Replacing it with a ZTX643 took care of the problem. Now the amp works really well.
