This thing is sooo old it doesnt want to wake up. I tried new AA batteries and they just slowly drain. It appears to be missing J13; a 16 pin IC.
Amazing this thing is still around to say the least... If anyone knows anyting about this please let me know. Supposedly these things were not really designed for car audio, but for loud factory equipment. These may have been popular back in the hey-day of Car Audio. This DB meeter appears to be from 1982. Its sensitivity range apears to be 30-16,000 hz and up to ~140DB. The owner said it will actually read higher, from the digital LED display just next to the power switch.
