Default '1982' GenRad Precision Sound Level Meter wont power up

This thing is sooo old it doesnt want to wake up. I tried new AA batteries and they just slowly drain. It appears to be missing J13; a 16 pin IC.

Amazing this thing is still around to say the least... If anyone knows anyting about this please let me know. Supposedly these things were not really designed for car audio, but for loud factory equipment. These may have been popular back in the hey-day of Car Audio. This DB meeter appears to be from 1982. Its sensitivity range apears to be 30-16,000 hz and up to ~140DB. The owner said it will actually read higher, from the digital LED display just next to the power switch.

I dont know if you guys know anything about this thing...

Default 1982 general radio sound level meter

Hi,

I know its a long shot but did you ever get this unit fixed? If not do you still have it and would you like to sell it? Just started looking for one and your questions about a repair of one showed up in my search.

Thanks Jim
