Just picked up a ppi pcx1500 amp from a friend this last week.
I Noticed it has no heatsinks for the mosfets, Ive googled and i see that a couple other people have asked this question before as well. Did ppi's pcx series come without heatsinks at some point in time? The bottom of the case looks like it possible touchs the mosfets when its in place. |

I think you mean 'clamps'. I think that this model used clamps (vs having the bottom cover applying pressure to the transistors). Don't power it up without something clamping the transistors to the heatsink.

The bottom of the case has these tabs on it that look like they possibly apply pressure to the fets.

Pull the end plate off and tighten the screws down on the bottom cover. Can you see that the bottom cover is applying pressure to the transistors?

They do indeed touch the fets, but not the entire fet. Just partially touching it.

If it's like the attached photo, it's probably OK.
