Default new pic-kup, need sound advice

hey guys, i just got myself a nissan NP200 (i know in other countries its a dacia) for work perposes and i want to fit some subs in it.

behind the seats, on either side, there is a rectange hole in the panels (covered only by a clip on piece of carpet). from there it goes into the cavity that is between the outside body panel and the back of the pickup. (i hope this is making sense)

anyway, its a really big cavity, its basically the whole side of the car after the doors. the rectangle opening is about 18cm x 42cm.

so this is what i needadvice for: will 16cm subs be enough to make some decent bass?? cos an 8inch sub wont really fit.

is it a good idea to use the car body as an enclosure? or will the sheet metal mess up the sound?

well i went ahead and tried fitting one speaker in the body cavity... and it doesn't work. if i put a bass est tone cd on, there's lots of bass. but normal music, most of it has very thin bass. all i can think of is that the enclosure is way too big.

What's your amp/cross-over setup? This has a large impact on the result as it will set how much power the sub is getting relative to the rest of the system.

16cm (6.5") - personally I wouldn't use it for a sub, I like having large cones to push a large volume of air around. But maybe it'll get the result you were after.

Its sealed tight with silicone, but the board does vibrate a lot.

I am running the woofers full range from my frontloader. i didn't want to put an amp in before doing some tests. If anything, the seats act as a bit of a low pass filter.

i would also prefer larger subs but they wont fit.

should i try porting the enclosure? when playing music, only the deep beats can be heard, higher frequency beats dont come through at all
